CPU mode - K's or lots of hits?

Been trying to balance a good set of sliders for cpu vs cpu. Seems like no matter what I do, I either get a ton of K's during a game, or if I manage to lower those, I wind up with too many hits, which of course affects the total runs scored.

I know the game is based on what is happening today in MLB...lots of strikeouts and homeruns, but wondered if anyone has been able to balance a set to better replicate the game from the 60's-70's.

It most likely would require a total editing of players, but don't have the energy for that. Besides, some of the roster sets used the RBU (?) tool to set ratings for players based on a specific year.
