Idea for block taking too long to break

How about instead of making the block break faster. Which might not be realistic in some scenarios. Think Tito vs. Liddel. If you know the strikes are coming you can turtle up and take a lot of strikes sometimes.

How about if your long term block begins to break down. I.e. you sit on block for all of round one and your arms are chewed up.

It then will take longer to get your guard up in the future. Similar to how stamina should affect block. For example, instead of being able to see a hook coming and hit block to block it. You would now have to pre-emptively have your block up, because it will take longer for your guard to get into position.

Thoughts, feedback?

Dude for real just jab four times ...the block will break . Doesn't even have to be during a health event . Why a jab does this but a hook combo won't is something I don't understand.

Nah nah nah nah that is not exactly right. Jab 4 times and the opponent turtles up so that you can now throw heavy punches to break it faster.

But then again think about why would I block four jabs and turtle up ...

You are on to something... it's good that the block breaks but why turtle up against baby jabs? Doesn't really make sense.

Exactly ...I mean I've seen knock outs and knock downs from jabs ...after I threw hooks that couldn't finish my opponent.

Re: Idea for block taking too long to break

I don't see why four consecutive jabs should break my block or make my fighter turtle up ? When I'm fighting friends I just wait for the power strike and duck but the decreased vulnerability window offers no incentive other than my avoiding a kO or kD ...once you slip the power strike ...your opponent can block now .

Well I'm not complaining but ...
