Re: NCAA 2014 FOUR Team Playoff Guide, Plus more Modding

@Pocketscout or anyone who may be able to help.

Using the most recent release, had zero problems for four seasons worth of files. This most recent season, though, I'm having an issue I cannot resolve. I'll quote the Unhandled exception I'm receiving.

---------------

What I've basically figured out, is that the problem comes down to a practice I did with my team once. I think. On the Scheduling data, both tabs have one occurrence of (300) Mizzou versus (400) Mizzou, in the Nike Practice facility. I can work the editor well enough to be dangerous, lol. Playoffs, resetting W-L records, and some mass edits. I haven't done anything, and I've triple checked the playoffs from that season. I don't ever remember seeing the practice logged, and I don't know how to get rid of it at all. I've tried exporting the tab, deleting the row, and importing back on top of it. Any solution or help would be appreciated, I can also e-mail you the file if need be too.

** Going to put this in the editor thread as well.

Re: NCAA 2014 FOUR Team Playoff Guide, Plus more Modding

I also posted this in the roster forum, but thought there might be better look in this thread:

Has anyone found a way to eliminate the minimum requirements for roster positions?

example:
The spread offense requires you to have at least 1 FB on your roster, but I never use a FB...so anyway to make this 0?

Could also be helpful with the kicking game as you could only carry 1 kicker/punter instead of having to take up 2 position spots (having to have 1 k & 1 p).

Just thinking outside the box on how to get more out of the 70 man roster.

Just wondering what kind of logic the game would use then.
This past season I had the Orange, Sugar, Fiesta and Rose as Generic vs Generic and they all produced great matchups before editing them for the playoffs.

Just looking for a way for teams to play more interesting games and face teams they wouldn't normally play and not have the same teams in the same bowls every year.
Update:
I've been testing this out lately and it kinda works how I wanted. I made the Rose, Orange, Fiesta, Sugar, Chick Fil A and Cotton Bowls all Generic 0 vs Generic 0. I then made all the other bowls Generic 1 vs Generic 1.

The BCS bowls all work perfectly.
The Cotton and Chick Fil A match ups are usually a couple of 7-5 and 8-4 teams for some reason. Then the Potato Bowl is usually two top 15 teams against each other and the Go Daddy Bowl is usually two teams in the top 12 which is funny.

I'm still not sure what gives what Bowl the highest priority which would obviously help.

That is really neat. I'm wondering if you left bowl tie-ins for the playoffs (four team playoff, two bowls, with let's say CUSA 7 and MAC 5 for the lowest bowl you'd be using for playoffs) if it would work any better or at all.

Re: NCAA 2014 FOUR Team Playoff Guide, Plus more Modding

I'm having some problems implementing a playoff. I did everything as stated in the directions, but when I click to sim the game, it acts like it is simming, but then puts the schedule back to the week 1 page and it doesn't sim the game at all. I've also tried playing the game, but the game freezes up in the first quarter. My top 4 teams are Alabama, Clemson, TCU, and Michigan State. I simmed the Sugar Bowl with Alabama v. MSU just fine. However when I try to sim or play Clemson v. TCU I get the problems described above. I have two placeholder teams in the title game (Idaho, UTSA) as well.

Have you read somewhere in this thread that it works on Macs?

Still having this problem. Since the one save was ****ed I went back to the save I had before any bowl games were played. Put Bama/MSU in Sugar Bowl, Clemson/TCU in Rose bowl, and Ball State/E Michigan in BCS title game. Set the game # for all games that I changed to 127. Removed .mc02 and encrypted in Bruteforce, then loaded up on my PS3. STILL Alabama and Michigan State sims fine but any of the other bowls I altered will not sim. It says it is simming the game, but then it autosaves and puts the schedule on Week 1 page, and when I go back to bowl week the game is still unplayed.
