Motor City Baseball: Detroit Tigers Dynasty (Show 20)

About My Dynasty: With relocation being added to MLB The Show 20, I was orginally planning on relocation the Oakland A's to Sacramento. However due to missing the little things (logo on sock, Nike logo on pants, MLB logo on back of hat) and the fact that you have to use a MLB Ballpark or a bland generic one, I scratched that idea. Just can't stand playing a "home" game in a stadium with other teams logos and website everywhere.

So then I thought about using Bacon's fictional roster but decided it wasn't really for me. As then you'd lose all the historical audio commentary.

So...ended up going with using The Show's latest roster and using the Detroit Tigers. I wanted one of the bottom 3 rated teams and the Tigers are in a massive rebuild. And they have two horrendous contracts in Miguel Cabrera & Jordan Zimmermann. Thankfully Zimmermann is off the books after the first season. Now...just to find some way to get rid of Cabrera.

Game Settings:I'll be using default sliders. And since it's 2020 and both leagues should be the same, DH is off. Since I normally play as a NL team, I like all the strategy that comes into not having a DH.

I'll be playing 1 game and simming 5. So first game I play will be with starter #2, 2nd game will be with starter #2, etc.

I'm not a Tigers fan. So I have no vested interest in any of the players. So the moves I make, might be vastly different then those of say a actual Tigers fan.

March 26th 2020 - Tigers lose in extra's on opening day
The Detroit Tigers thought they had a opening day win in the books, when they took a 3-2 lead in the top of the 8th. Unfortunately for Ben Hopkins and Ron Gardenhire, who for some reason didn't move to the closer in the bottom of the 9th. The Indians were able to tie it in the bottom of the 9th and then win it in the bottom of the 10th.

Afterward Gardenhire said closer Joe Jimenez was alittle under the weather and that's the reason he went with Hopkins in the 9th & 10th.

For the Tigers, Isaac Paredes got his first career home run.

In the 8th Jonathan Schoop hits a 2 run homer to give the Tigers the 3-2 lead.

Tigers lose at home to Indians, 4-1.
It was a day Jordan Balazovic would prefer to have never happened but unfortunately the record book proved it did.

Balazovic lasted 2.2 innings giving up 9 hits and 4 runs. Balazovic said after wards "I just didn't have it today. Nothing I done worked. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come".

On April 3rd the Tigers did make a move on the trade front, sending prospects RF Travis Demeritte and CF Riley Greene to Pittsburgh for 1B Josh Bell. Rumor has it the Tigers were planing to then be able to trade Miguel Cabrera unfortunately sources say that fell through due to financial reasons. As of now, the Tigers are keeping 3 first basemen on the roster. Not sure how long that can last.

Re: Motor City Baseball: Detroit Tigers Dynasty (Show 20)

The Detroit Tigers have made some more moves today.

April 3rd 2020:

Tigers Acquired RF Nelson Cruz and 3B Miguel Sand from the Twins for 18 Miguel Cabrera, SP Mail
Manning and 38 Brian Schales. (I was trying anything I could to get rid of Cabrera's contract. But I didn't want to rip of the CPU and wanted to make a trade that made sense. The Twins top rated 1B on their roster was 54OVR. So they were a perfect fit. Cruz will start in LF and Schales will be starting 3B was 2nd rated 3B on Twins)
Optioned RF Jorge Bonifacio to Triple—A Toledo.
Sent LF Carn Gibson from Triple-A Toledo to Double-A Erie.
Optioned LF Troy Stokes Jr. to Triple-A Toledo.
Oplioned 3B Isaac Paredes lo Triple-A Toledo.

April 9th 2020:

Recalled SP Jordan Zimmermann from Double-A Erie. (Since I really need RP help, he'll become a LR in the bullpen. His ratings, while not great is still better then the RP I have in AAA)

Re: Motor City Baseball: Detroit Tigers Dynasty (Show 20)

Pitching fails Tigers again, lose 8-6.
The starting pitchign again got the Tigers off to a bad start. Starter Shao-Ching Chiang allowed 2 runs in the 1st to get the Tigers behind the 8 ball. The Angles were able to add 3 more in the 5th to make it 5-1 before the Tigers were able to get 2 back in the bottom of the 5th.

The Angels added another 1 in the top for the 7th before the Tigers were able to come back with 3 of their own in the bottom of the 7th to tie it up at 6. Unfortunately for the Tigers, the Angels were able to add a insurance run in both the 8th and 9th to give them the 8-6 win.

Another game, another loss for the Tigers

The starting pitching wasn't the let down for the Tigers this time. The pitching only allowed 1 run in the first 5 innings. Unfortunately for the Tigers they allowed 2 in the 6th. The Twins followed that by adding another 3 in the 8. By the time the Tigers finally scored one in the top of the 9th, the game for all intents and purposes was already over.
