Building a home - Group project

So guys, youre from all over the country and we're going with a builder that'll let us do a semi-custom build. What are some things in your home or that youve seen in your neck of the woods that we should consider putting in here. Link if you can. Hopefully Ill be able to update this thread as the home progresses and show some of the things you all pick. This is gonna be fun.

-We know we're reworking the Master Bathroom as we do not like center tub thing.
-We're adding a door from the Laundry room to the outside for the dogs and such.
-We're turning the wet-bar upstairs into another laundry room if itll fit
-We're extending the uncovered portion of the back patio
-We're getting the 3rd car garage and doing the driveway in brick pavers.

Bay windows. This adds som much room to your house. We have a small kitchen with a breakfast dining area off it. We put a bay window/sliding glass door to deck. It added enough room to actually put a table in it and have enough room for a couple bar chairs at our counter/bar with enough room to walk.

I know this is small but ... the narrow little cabinet made to hold 2-liter bottles vertically is one of the great ideas of my lifetime. BUT ...

make sure they're tall enough to hold Coke products on both the top & bottom row if possible (coke makes bottles slightly taller than pepsi & generics, which means they always have to be on the bottom in my rack, drives me nuts when I'm just trying to put up the damned groceries)

So does anyone have any experience with building a home, or working with a custom home builder? I'm interested to hear about your experiences!

See if you can get one that has jets pointed at your back. Mine has jet coming in from the side but as an old-timer, it's my crunchy back that needs the water massage most. Plus, I would rather it was about 6" taller so you could really get down in and soak in there.

We have one, and I don't think it's been used for at least 4 or 5 years. I think my wife has used it for a total of maybe a dozen times for the purpose of a jacuzzi, and a few times as a bath to wash up after surgery where a shower is not allowed. I've never been in it except to clean it and reach across to get my bath towel. Total waste of space for us.
