There are laws against people profiting from their crimes, yes, but they are fairly recent (see
Charles Manson's book) and fairly limited. They do not prevent a felon from ever working again, so as long as she does not directly profit from selling
accounts of her crimes (assuming she is convicted) she is free to profit from her newfound
notoriety.
