But I guess I feel like so much of my time has been taken up with my kids that I will inevitably have time for other things. Frankly, outside of avid music listening and playing video games, there really isn't anything that I've done for myself that I could say, "Now's the time I can start spending a bunch more time doing X." It's stuff I figure I can start adding to my life because I've pretty much ignored those kinds of things while raising a family.

All a matter of how you look at stuff I suppose.
Mine left when I was, what, 49? 50? By this point I don't figure I'm going to have much in the way of great revelations about stuff I enjoy that I had no idea I'd enjoy. That leaves maximizing time with things I enjoy.
{shrug} A matter of outlook and expectations I suppose.
