1950 Offseason

We make a few minor trades to add some pieces to our pen and with young lefties Lasorda and Marv Rotblatt we should have a pretty good relief corps. Our pitching depth however is pretty bad.

We can't take on any salary, we can't increase any of our operating budgets, so this is really pretty much the last year. Gibson, Spec Shea and Ray Scarborough are all their final contract years and there's nothing we can do to keep them. We're going for it all but if we're out of it in late July we will have to blow the team up.

In the end we got very little support from the fans, which may have to do with us being considered the second team in the city, the fact that we went black and never went back, who knows, but I'm proud of the run this team has had. Let's get one more for the road, shall we?
