Possible NFL 2k rumor? Hiphopgamer tweets
Posted on February 22, 2013 at 09:04 AM.
“@hiphopgamer: #REALTALK If Rumors Are True From What I'm Hearing #2KSports Might Get There Wish That's All I'm Saying. #WORKHARDPLAYHARD”

Hiphopgamer tweeted this yesterday and I hope it is in regards to NFL 2k series returning...2k has been making good strides over the last few months after everyone proclaimed that they don't have the resources to hang with EA. 2k returns with MLB 2k13 and the WWE license...the icing on the cake would be for 2k to announce that they are able to make nfl related games again.

its an exclusive license, which I believe EA re-upped last year

Ea renewed in 2011...the deal ends this year

I think the whole world wants 2K to start making NFL games again, but I highly doubt 2K wants to sink money into trying to compete with Madden. It took Backbreaker like 5 years to even make one game, and it wasn't exactly a huge moneymaker. But I think that this would be the year to get started, if they were planning on taking another go at making an NFL game...mainly because the new consoles are coming out at the end of the year and Madden will get gutted for the first version on the new console.

The only way this happens is if 2K spends this year and next developing for next-gen. It wrung hair this year, that's for sure...

EA doesn't have exclusive deals anymore with the NFL.

@bonesknows85...do you have a link that mentions that EA doesn't have a exclusive deal with the nfl? That would be great news!

Maybe, just maybe it's one of these... Or all of them?

1. The ESPN license for all their future titles including boxing.

2. The HBO license for their future sim-style boxing game.

3. They acquired the Rugby licenses from EA and HES for a complete game for the next Rugby World Cup.

4. TT bought Big Ant and all the rights to licenses to Rugby League.

5. They bought the rights to create another Kelly Slater Pro Surfer, aimed primarily at simulation.
