My Beliefs

Now that OS has done an awesome thing and allowed us to blog about our beliefs and opinions, I figured I'd write a blog about my religious beliefs. First of all, I am a born again Christian. What is a "born again" Christian you ask? Well in Romans 3:23 in the Bible it says, " For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God". Every one of us screws up and sins everyday of our lives. God knows and it's called our sinful nature. When Adam committed the first sin ever against God, the curse of sin has fallen on every man. God, on the other hand, is perfect, Allmighty and Allknowing. He knows that we all sin and were going to sin. The thing is, how can we know God if He is perfect and we sin several times every single day of our lives? Romans 6:23 states, " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." You see, God knew the moment Adam sinned, the human race was damned. That's why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins on the cross so that when we sin and mess up repeatedly, we don't have to die. Jesus took the place for us on the cross we deserved to be on. One of my favorite verses John 3:16 states, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life". The term "born again" meens that God has replaced our sinful life with a new life full of His grace.
My purpose in life is to know what God's will is for my life. When you accept God's grace and his salvation to us through Jesus Christ, you realize that you can't live life like most other people. This in no way means that because I'm a Christian and have accepted Christ that I'm a better person or "more holy" than everyone else. Hey, I struggle with my mouth and saying and thinking things I shouldn't just like eveyone else. It's just that I want to live my life for God because of all He's done for me. Knowing God's will is a tough thing for me. Right now in my life, I really don't know God's complete will for me yet. I just strive to do my best at my job and show God's love to others and pray that God continues to direct my life each day.

Great first blog entry. I don't have too much to say. I hope you post more about your journey as a Born Again. I guess one good place to start is how you got to be a Born Again in the first place.

I'm glad that you made such a wonderful profession of faith. I pray that those who would hope to challenge you or make you become defensive would honor you and your beliefs. I share the same beliefs. And I just try to not "preach" but live as a witness. What was it that St Francis said again?.... I only hope that maybe our Country and churches will become less political and more about spreading the Good News again. That issue has pained my heart for a while now.....

Totally agree BrianFifaFAn, I'm not the most vocal person at my job and I try to just be a witness for Christ. For SPTO, I became born again when my Parents did early on in their marriage. It wasn't like I was forced to become a Christian either because I am now in my twenties and still trying to live for God.

I am definately a believer but by no means do I act the way I do. I do not go to church on a regular basis. Nor am I always the nicest person, although I do try. I found myself being angry with God when my dad was diagnosed with cancer, but I am over that. I pray to God to give me the strength to be strong for both my dad and myself. I have faults but God is able to look past those and love me nonetheless.

Hey funkychicken, just always remember that God loves you and has a plan for your life. The best things for growing in your faith are prayer and reading the Bible, two things I need to work on also. God Bless and thanks for the comments.

i know there is no other way. I am a youth pastor at my church and i wanted to see some views on this topic. Alot of people dont understand why he isthe only way but i will explain here. Thoughout mankinds history there has always been a blood sacrifice. Man's desire to control frienge on the law of power, and the law of blood. In exodus God state that the Blood is the LIFE of a THING. Which means that for the sake of Blood Life exist. We had tanted our blood by not being obedient to his cause and Christ came and perfected the BLOOD. This is why i love him so much and dedicate my life to him so when YWHW looks upon me and my life, it will resemble the LIFE OF A THING and that's resemblance will be CHRIST BLOOD.
