Looks like both Welker and Talib will be signing with NE soon. Ed Reed says he could win 2 Super Bowls with Tom Brady, and wants to play for BB. Connor Barwin said he wants to play for BB, and NE is interested in him. James Harrison came out and said (him, not his agent) that he would love to play with Brady, who wouldn't, and BB has praised Harrison in the past. Dwight Freeney looks like he wants to sign with the Giants, or NE Patriots, and NE has been more active going for Freeney, and also Umenyiora this offseason. Also is one of the top teams for CB Sean Smith.

If NE signs Smith and Reed to go with Talib and McCourty we could see a vastly improved pass defense next years. Plus Harrison to go along with Spikes and Mayo would make for one of the better LB cores in the NFL. Add Freeney or Osi to Wilfork and Jones and they have a much better pass rush next season. Also NE has shown interest in WR Wallace, who might be to pricey, or if they pass Jennings could be more affordable to go with a already record setting offense.

They great thing about Harrison, Reed, Freeney, Osi and Jennings. They are all older now, and the cap hit wont be no where as near as much, as say 3 years ago. With NE cap space, they could sign Harrison, Freeney and Reed easily since they have all expressed interest to play for them, and all being older now. Jennings and Smith would add great depth, but would require more money, but you can never have to many WRs and CBs in the league today.

I'm surprised that NE is willing to sign so many new players this offseason, but with the money they have available, and Brady nearing his last 4 years in the league. Don't be surprised if they sign several of the players I listed above!
